The most significant African potential in Africa is the people.
Not Africa, the country. There is no such thing: Africa, the continent.
I think the Africa continent has great potential, and it's time you start paying attention. I'm paying attention. I believe the tremendous Africa potential is the people.
Africa isn't just about safari, lions, and zebras. Safaris are great. If you haven't done one, please have fun. There's more to Africa than we all know or care to know, but I believe there is a wave coming, and it is coming from every corner of Africa. A wave of hope, growth, resilience, and transformation.
Here is what I'm particularly interested in:
60% of Africa's population is under the age of 25.
Africa has its fair of challenges. From political instability to corruption in some countries, the youth's outlook gives me hope. I hope that Africa leaders can tap into these people to grow the economy of Africa. There is a workforce in the youth. The youth can pioneer technological innovation.
Financial inclusion with Fintech, Mobile Money, and intra Africa trade
Fintech and Mobile Money is the most significant accelerator of Africa's growth. Once the Africa union figures out the Intra Africa trade and reduces trade barriers, we will see more Made in Africa.
The African talent
There's great talent in Africa. In many sectors but technology in particular. With the remote work movement that the pandemic has sparked, it's time to start looking at talent in Africa. There are opportunities to source, train and hire talent in Africa.
Go and look at trends in Africa, and I will undoubtedly start sharing about them.
